Get Ready!
|
The first Central Division road race will be held at Minmi on Saturday 4 April at 2:00pm.
Always a favourite amongst riders, the Minmi event often has fields approaching 50 riders. If you've never experienced riding in a decent sized pack then you just can't go past this event. Come along and support the Hunter Districts Cycling Club who have generously offered to hold this race to make up for the loss of the Cessnock event in 2009.
The first race is a non-championship event so A Grade will be contested as a teams event. Riders should start organising their teams of 5 as entries will open shortly. Teams should generally be made up of riders from the same club, but riders from smaller clubs (MV, CESS, MB, and ADF) are encouraged to join forces to create "Barbarians" teams. Further details will be posted on the website this week.
Please note that the entry fee for all Central Division races is $12.00 this year. It would be greatly appreciated if you could bring the correct money as the sign-on desk only has a small amount of change.
Riders are also reminded that club shirst must be worn at all Central Division events unless you are part of a sponsored team or group. This rule will be strictly enforced in 2009.
The NewRad Gateshead, Active Cycles, Avanti Plus, Two Wheel Industries and Up'n'Go teams have not renewed their sponsorships in 2009, so riders will not be eligible to race in those uniforms. |

Central Division AGM
|
The Central Division Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 7/2/2009 with attendance from almost all member clubs.
All current committee members were reelected unopposed, so the 2009 Central Division committee is:
- President - Ross Hayter
- Secretary - Neil Robinson
- Treasurer - Lorraine Staley
- Road Coordinater - Clyde Marshall
- Grader - Jock Murray
- Commissaire - Mick Chapman
The Central Division Committee is now looking for a volunteer to fill the role of Publicity Officer. In 2009 the role would be focussed on making inroads into various media outlets to actively promote cycling, Central Division racing, club racing and personal achievements from within our membership.
If you have experience in dealing with the media and have an interest in the role please contact Ross Hayter or Neil Robinson. |
