From HDCC: I agree with these suggestions too. We should always try to accommodate u/11’s and u/13’s. It would make sense to put them on at Kooragang on Aug 2. There is no harm in giving everyone the incentive of 1 minute intervals between bunches. It should motivate a few. It should help the u/15 and u/17 to run separately. We can always amend as basically we stipulate all riders be there and entered prior to 1.50pm. I don’t think someone would arrive at 2.10pm for a 2.10pm start….?? Regards Brett |

Good idea. I agree it's too late to plan anything new for the U/11s and u/13s this weekend. How about running u/11 and u/13 age championships at Kooragoang on Sunday 2 August 2009 in conjunction with the Central Division Graded Road Championships. U/11s 1 lap 8 km and u/13s 2 laps 16 km? That would allow the clubs and parents time to get the kids there in numbers. The course is flat so single speed bikes can be used and it allows for the Saturday soccer and footy players to be involved. Accommodating U/17s into existing program / this weekend however should be a priority . Start them 1 minute in front of the U/15s to motivate both groups. Re; u/15 girls, like any division, if the numbers don't turn up there isn't much alternative but to combine with the boys - but the distance could be shortened to 3 laps 30 Km. If the numbers warrant start them 1 minute behind the u/15 boys. |

I've looked at the times and can't see how they can fit any more packs onto the course. As it is I think they're pushing it a bit An alternative put forward by HDCC is to run a separate championship event for (say) U11, U13, U15 B&G at Kooragang on either Saturday or Sunday, but it's getting a bit late to organise for this weekend. What are your thoughts on that? |

As for U13's racing at Black Hill I have seen them been allowed to race sometimes, but the 40 km distance for the U15 race is too far outside of the maximum race distance that U13's are allowed to race. U11's and below will not get a start at all as the course is not approved for them. |

I agree with the above. Our job is to encourage not discourage the riders, these mixed division will only leave riders alienated and dispondent. I will not be encouraging juniors to participate outside their age and gearing. Especially over the circuit planned. |

You are 100% Andy there are 5 boys in this age group that I know who have 6 weeks till there states in Port who are being totally neglected by central division with this decision Try encouraging a 15 years girl to race 40ks against boys also ! I encouraged Tegan to go to all CD last year we only missed 1 event but it is not worth the effort especially for Junior girls |

| That's ridiculous to have U17's with the elite riders on their gearing - let alone their age and strength. The clubs and CD should be nurturing the juniors not alienating them. Shorten the other races, fit them in between other grades or send them off with the older guys. |

No mention of Under 17's ?? Must be a typo ? Nothing for U/13's?? I recall this age division was included at K'gang last year. Maybe U/13's not approved to race at Minmi ?? |
